TEST ID Prion PRION DISEASE CSF (14-3-3, Total TAU, RT-QuIc)

Important Note

14-3-3 CSF - will be sent to the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center. Testing will include RT-QuIc, 14-3-3y(ELISA) and Total TAU (ELISA). Please inlcude Page 2/Clinical History and Findings with the sample.

Main Lab Central Processing has order requisitions for sending out testing.

Container/Tube:
Preferred: Sterile aliquot
Specimen Volume: 2.0 mL (1.0 mL minimum)

Processing Instructions:

The first 2 mL of CSF should NOT be used for this test.

Avoid bloody sample.

Sample should be frozen immediately.

Ship frozen, on dry ice.

Transport:

Please note: shipments are not received on the weekends and/or holidays. Ship only on Monday through Thursday (priority overnight).
