Preferred:  Random urine. Sterile, screw topped container 
Acceptable: 24 hr. urine jug. No preservatives. Keep refrigerated during collection. Record total volume.
Specimen Volume:  1.0 mL
 

Collection Instructions:

Random: Random urine collection, no special patient preparation needed. Transfer 1 ml to aliquot tube and freeze. 

24 hour Urine: 24 Hour urine refrigerated during collection. Record total volume. Transfer 1 mL from a well-mixed 24 hr collection to a plastic aliquot tube. Freeze
