Blood Product Information
- Order when FFP is to be obtained from laboratory for transfusion.
- Specify number of units needed.
- Deterioration of clotting factors occurs after thawing. FFP is not indicated for volume replacement therapy.
- Appropriately labeled specimen which also includes the unique Blood Bank wristband number must be submitted to the lab.
- Consent for Transfusion of Blood and Blood Products prior to transfusion.
