TEST ID CRYO CRYOPRECIPITATE

Important Note

This is a blood product for TRANSFUSION.

Guidelines for transfusing CRYO:

  1. Fibrinogen < 100 mg/dl.
  2. Fibrinogen < 150 mg/dl with active bleeding.
  3. Fibrinogen < 300 mg/dl with active for OB patients.
  4. TPA associated bleeding.
  5. Massive transfusion.
  6. Uremic bleeding when administration of DDAVP is ineffective or after tachyphylaxis.
  7. Factor XIII deficiency.
  8. Von Willebrand disease or Factor VIII- Hemophilia A; second line therapy.
  9. DIC

Collection Instructions:

Draw 1 full, pink-top (K2 EDTA) tube and send to the lab. Unique Blood Bank wristband number must on specimen submitted to the Blood Bank.

Blood Product Information

  1. Order when cryoprecipitate is to be transfused.
  2. Specify number of units needed.
  3. Must be infused within 6 hours of thawing (If Cryo singles are pooled into 1 bag they must  transfused within 4 hrs.).
  4. Store product at ambient temperature.
  5. Appropriately labeled specimen which also includes the unique blood bank wristband number must be submitted to the lab.
  6. Consent for Transfusion of Blood and Blood Products, prior to transfusion.
