Important Note

Send specimens to lab immediately after collection.

Specimens that will take longer than 30 minutes to get to the lab need to be placed on ice.

A syringe submitted to the laboratory with a needle attached is unacceptable.

Acceptable: Sodium or Lithium Heparin syringe

Specimen Volume: 0.6 mL

Collection Instructions:

Syringe:

Expel air from the syringe and cap it immediately after obtaining the sample.

Do not use clay or cork to cap the syringe.

Tube:

Completely fill tube and place on ice.
