**Place specimen on ice immediately following collection.**

Container/Tube:
Preferred: Lithium Heparin (Mint)
Acceptable: EDTA plasma, Sodium Heparin (Dark Green)
Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL

Collection Instructions:

Centrifuge as soon as possible and seperate plasma from cells.

Immediately place specimen on ice before and after centrifugation.

Specimen cannot be used if outside of recommended specimen storage temperature and stability. Greater than 30 minutes after collection for inpatients. Greater than 3 hours after collection for outpatient specimens. Once specimen is uncapped, the test must be run within 30 minutes.
